This is a 3 days Mount Sabyinyo volcano hike to conquer one of the highest volcanoes at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. A tour on a mountain whose summit is shared by Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo is thrilling. Your tour experience starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe. Also your guide will drive you from the start to the end of your trip.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
In the early morning, our driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe airport and embark on full day drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National park in south western Uganda. Have a stop at Uganda Equator for photography and enjoy this scenic drive via farms, local communities and rolling hills. You will have lunch enroute. After arriving at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park just check in at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Mt. Sabyinyo Hike
Wakeup very early and go for a brief guide on the safety measures of hiking Sabyinyo. Start hiking to conquer the tall standing volcano. Climbing it is strenuous, but ladders are available to ease the process. The slopes of Sabyinyo Volcano shelter endangered mountain gorillas, birds and other primates in the park. The summit of the volcano offers you spectacular views of other Virunga Volcanoes, Kisoro town, Rwanda and local communities. The hike to and down the volcano takes roughly 8 hours. Porters are highly recommended for this hike to help you carry the luggage. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Departure
Have a morning cup of coffee or tea, and leave the Sabyinyo area back to Kampala. During this long scenic drive, you will grab some lunch enroute. We shall drop you off at your accommodation. If you want to catch your outbound flight, drop off will be in Entebbe.
