Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla N/Park

After breakfast, meet up with your driver guide and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla National Park. The park is located roughly 9 hours from Kampala. Have a stop over at the Equator for photography and short calls.

Numerous stopovers to buy roadside foods and fruits make this journey more fun and amazing. Have lunch enroute and proceed reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking

Today you rise up early, have a hot cup of coffee and with your packed lunch transfer to Ntebeko Information center. Register and have a brief introduction about the do’s and don’ts of gorilla trekking. At 8:00 am, begin a hike in search of Nyakagezi – the only gorilla family in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

The hike up and downhill through thick forests is strenuous but worth it. On meeting the gorillas, spend an hour in their presence, take pictures and embrace the humanly characters of gorillas in their family.

Mountain gorilla trekking is a best wildlife experience in the world. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking & Community tour

Wakeup early, have breakfast and go for briefing and registration at Ntebeko Visitor Information Center just like the previous day with gorillas. You will be put in groups and given two armed park rangers.

Start up the hike up hill in search of the golden monkeys. The trek lasts between 3-4 hours. You will be allowed to spend an hour with golden monkeys. Enjoy their playful behaviors, take pictures, capture live videos and enjoy this magical encounter.

In the evening, you will visit neighboring communities to interact with local Batwa people and learn about their lifestyles, traditional performances, songs, history and so much more. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Kampala via Igongo cultural center for sumptuous local buffet, and at the equator for last photo moment and shopping craft, and thereafter continue to Entebbe airport for departure flight.
