Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International airport, meet your driver guide from our company and transfer to Volcanoes National park in North western Rwanda. The drive time from Kigali to Volcanoes Park is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking
Wakeup very early, have breakfast and transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will be put in groups of eight each allocated a gorilla family.
At 8: 00am, start off the hike into the jungle to meet the endangered gorillas. Trekking time range between 30 minutes to over 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas on that day. However, you are 99% sure of meeting them. On meeting the endangered gorillas, spend an hour in their presence.
Enjoy gorilla’s human like characters, take pictures and have fun with your close relative. Descend, pick your tracking certificates and drive back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge (Day 1)
Day 3: Ibyiwachu cultural tour & Fly to Arusha
In the morning, have a cup of coffee and drive to Ibyiwachu cultural Centre to learn Rwanda’s traditions, norms and beliefs. Enjoy and take part in Rwanda’s traditional dances for entertainment. Thereafter, drive to Kigali airport for your connecting flight to Tanzania.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Wakeup on a cup of coffee and embark on the 6 hours’ drive to Serengeti, Tanzania’s top travel destination. Enjoy this scenic drive with several stopovers to buy roadside foods and interact with local people. Retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Full day game Viewing
You will wake up early, have breakfast and go for game viewing in the open savannahs. The game drives offer you excellent views of numerous wild animals hunting, grazing and browsing in the park. Expect to see animals such as elephants, lions, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, wildebeests, Giraffes, Hippos, Jackals, Serval cats, Topis, Waterbucks, warthogs, Monitor lizards and foxes among others.
You will have a picnic lunch in the wilderness and enjoy a sun set in the evening for an evening game drive to see animals feed before retiring for night rests. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Optional Balloon Safari & transfer Ngorongoro Crater
In the early morning, have an optional balloon safari for aerial views of wildlife and entre Serengeti National park. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, refresh, check out and embark on a drive to Ngorongoro Conservations Area. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 7: Big five game & visit the Olduvai Gorge
Rise up early and go for a big five game in Ngorongoro crater. You will see various wild animals including lions, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos, elands, Blue monkeys, Hippos, Wildebeests, Leopards, Zebras, Gazelles, kobs, jackals and spotted hyenas among others. Have a sweet picnic breakfast and thereafter drive to Olduvai gorge to see the earliest evidence of the man’s evolution.
A guided walk in the gorge is an exceptional experience you should not miss, Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 8: Fly to Masai Mara Game reserve
Wakeup, have breakfast, checkout and drive to the airstrip for a connecting flight to Masai Mara National Park. Upon arrival, have lunch and take leisurely game drive through the open plains of Masai Mara to explore resident wildlife that call this fine park home.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Game viewing & Masai Cultural Tour
In the early morning, go for morning game drives in the open plains of the park to catch up with early risers feeding before retiring for day rests. Among the animals you will see include Elephants, lions, Buffalos, Leopards, Rhinos, Wildebeest, Giraffes, zebras, waterbucks and kobs among others.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast as you wait for hot lunch. In the afternoon, visit Masai local communities for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 10: Departure
Have breakfast and transfer to Nairobi for your return flight.
