Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Kibale Forest National park
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver guide (our company representative) and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to the endangered chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
Wake up early, have breakfast and transfer to Kanyanchu information Centre for briefing and registration. The trek to see chimpanzees starts at 8:00am lasting between 30 minutes to several hours depending on the location of chimpanzees and their speed of movements.
Travelers are allowed to spend an hour with chimpanzees to learn their humanlike behaviors, take pictures and capture live videos.
In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale Forest is home to several other primates including baboons, blue monkeys, black and white colobus, Red tailed monkeys and Vervet monkeys among others. In the evening, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, home to numerous birds, reptiles and primates. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
In the morning, you will have a cup of coffee, check out and drive south westwards to Bwindi Forest National park home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy this scenic drive through tea plantations, bananas, local communities and Kigezi rolling hills.
Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking
Wakeup, have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for pre gorilla trekking and registration. You will be put in a group of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. At 8:00am, penetrate into the impenetrable Bwindi Forest in search for the gorillas.
The trek can be as short as 30 minutes or a full day of trekking before meeting the gorillas. Send an hour with the endangered species, learn their behaviors and enjoy this wonderful encounter. If time allows in the evening, you will visit batwa communities for cultural performance and listen to their traditional songs. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
After a cup of coffee, check out and drive crossing to Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills. Enjoy a city tour to explore different tourist features in Kigali such as the Kigali genocide memorial Centre, presidential palace, Art galleries and Kigali Convention Centre among others.
Have lunch in Kigali and later drive north westwards to Volcanoes National park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking – Fly to Arusha
Get up early, have a cup of tea and transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for briefing on the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. Trek to meet the lively and playful golden monkey, spend an hour in their company and lean about their lifestyles.
Thereafter, transfer to Kigali Airport for your connecting flight to Arusha Tanzania. Dinner and overnight stay in Arusha
Day 7: Transfer to Serengeti National park
In the morning, embark on an 8 hours northwards to Serengeti National park located in Simuyu and Mara regions. Serengeti Park is Tanzania’s oldest National Park and a top tourist destination with a high concentration of wildlife and birds. Dinner and overnight stay at a safari lodge of your choice.
Day 8: Full day in Serengeti
Today, you spend a whole day exploring and enjoying the beauties of Serengeti National Park. Game drives through the park offer you excellent views of numerous wild animals grazing, browsing and hunting in the open savannahs.
Expect to see elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, Wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, Topis, Kobs, Waterbucks, Hippos, warthogs, Rhinos and Foxes among others. Moreso, the park is home to birds like Red capped Robin chat, black headed genolok, Silver bird, grey backed fiscal, Kori bustard, Secretary bird and Rufous tailed weaver among others. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 9: Visit Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Have breakfast and drive for roughly 3 hours south east to Ngorongoro Conservation area. Visit the Oldupai gorge known for the earliest human remains. Also, visit the Empakaai crater with emerald green lake and see numerous animals and birds which call this area home. Dinner and overnight stay at a scenic Tented Camp.
Day 10: Fly to Masai Mara National Park – Kenya
Transfer to Seronera airstrip for your connecting flight to Masai Mara in southern Kenya. On reaching Masai Mara, you may embark on a short afternoon drive along the sprawling savannah in Masai Mara National park.
This park is one of the top visited travel destinations in Kenya. Overnight stay at any lodge of your choice.
Day 11: All day game viewing & Cultural encounters
Have breakfast, get your packed lunch and go for an all-day game viewing experience. Game drives offer you great views of wild animals including Elephants, lions, Zebras, Hippos, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Rhinos, Topis and kobs among others.
You will also visit Masai communities for cultural encounters to learn the traditions, norms and beliefs of local people. Dinner and stay at the lodge.
Day 12: Departure
After breakfast, drive to the airport for your return flight.
