This is a bespoke 3 Days Mgahinga gorilla safari in southern region of Uganda. Visitors have the chance to explore the Nyakagezi gorilla family on this memorable 3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla Safari tour. The Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the smallest national park in Uganda and one of the two parks where mountain gorilla trekking takes place. This tour begins and ends in Kampala / Entebbe.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Today morning, our driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe airport and depart for Mgahinga Gorilla National park. Have a stop over at the Equator, take some pictures and proceed with the drive.
The 9 hours’ drive via Ankole plains, tea farms, banana plantations, trading Centre and Kigezi rolling hills is a best pre-trekking experience. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
Today is a great day to meet the one and only Nyakagyezi gorilla family! Wakeup early, have a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch transfer to Ntebeko Information Centre. Register with the park rangers and attend a brief introduction to the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking.
The trek to meet gorillas start at 8:00 am lasting for between 2-6 hours. You will spend an hour with the Nyakagezi family, learn their behavior, take pictures and enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.
In the evening if time allows, visit neighboring communities to meet the local people. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Departure
Today is the last day of our trip. Have breakfast, check out and drive back to Kampala via Kabale – Mbarara – Masaka route.
